Mold Making 101 | Jesse Woodworth
This engaging workshop will serve to thoroughly teach participants the essential basics of slip casting, a key technique in pottery. Throughout the session, you will learn how to create simple one and two part molds, which are fundamental to the process. Each person will have the exciting opportunity to make their own unique mold during the workshop, allowing for personal creativity to shine. We will also cover the proper ways to mix and pour plaster, as well as provide detailed instructions on how to effectively pour and de-mold a slipcast, ensuring a seamless learning experience for everyone involved.
What to Bring:
Drill + Mixing Bit
3 Gallon Bucket
Accurate Digital Scale
Tape Measure
Materials Provided:
small mold item for casting
2×2 pouring platform
coddle boards
plaster
mold soap
wet/dry sandpaper
clay
*You will leave with your mold, pouring platform, and coddle boards
